Customer Profile

Hopewell Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant facility is rated for a flow of 50 million gallons per day, although on a normal day, they process 30 million gallons of influent. 15 percent of the daily flow comes from the residential population of 22,000 people. The remaining 85 percent comes from the industrial base (50 percent is Smurfit Stone Paper Mill), Fort Lee Military Installation and Prince George County. They have been in operation since 1978 and an LE customer since 1996.

Challenge

On the Hopewell Regional WWTP “Campus” are a number of buildings where various oils and greases are stored. Contamination and the inconvenience of tracking down proper lubricants were constant issues.

When building a new maintenance shop, Bill Tiller, maintenance manager, wanted to centralize his lubes and greases in the shop for convenience, safety and cleanliness.
