Bob Koelzer, a shop foreman and advocate of LE products, ensured the expensive CAT 3406 truck purchased in 2003 received high-quality engine oil.
Jeff Dean, a lubrication consultant, recommended Monolec Ultra® Engine Oil (8800) for its long-drain capability and superior condition retention in diesel and gasoline engines, thanks to its shear-stable viscosity modifier.
The unit has exceeded its projected lifespan by over 15,000 hours, with established drain intervals of 600-700 hours, resulting in significant downtime and labor cost savings according to Bob Koelzer.
LE has saved us a lot of downtime and labor costs.

Ensign Well Service run work-over rigs in the Denver Julesburg basin, as well as, Northern and Southern California. They also do various trucking operations. They have been an LE customer since 1986.
Ensign Well Service operates a winch/haul truck with a CAT 3406 engine. This machine is used for hauling water/ equipment from rig locations. This vehicle runs in a dirty, harsh environment. It is exposed to high heat and extreme cold.
The truck containing the CAT 3406 was purchased in 2003. Bob Koelzer, shop foreman, has been a strong believer in LE products for quite some time. This was an expensive piece of equipment that needed a high-quality engine oil.
Jeff Dean, LE lubrication consultant, recommended Monolec Ultra® Engine Oil (8800), which is a long-drain engine oil designed for year-round extended drain service in diesel and gasoline engines for fleet and industrial use. Monolec 8800 has a dependable 15W-40 viscosity range made possible by a shear-stable viscosity modifier developed and proven by LE through years of research and actual field experience. No other brand of petroleum lubrication oil, regardless of price, will be found superior in condition to Monolec 8800 at the end of any given period of use.
This unit is currently in excess of 30,000 hours and still running strong. This is well beyond the projected 15,000 hour inframe interval for a unit of this type. There are no current plans for inframe. Drain intervals have been established at 600-700 hours. Bob Koelzer stated, “LE has saved us a lot of downtime and labor costs.”
