Challenge

Frankie’s Maintenance staff sought to extend oil drain intervals and reduce maintenance downtime by using a commercial grade engine oil that required weekly changes.

LE solution

LE Representative Greg Hasselbring recommended 8430 MONOLEC® GFS Engine Oil, which is designed for heavy-duty diesel and gasoline engines and surpasses performance standards for Mack, Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit Diesel, Ford, and General Motors.

Results

By switching to LE’s 8430, Frankie’s Fun Park reduced oil purchases from two 275-gallon tanks annually to one 55-gallon drum every 10 months, cut repair hours from 120 to 15-20 per week, and decreased parts orders from biweekly to semiannual, leading to increased customer attraction and adoption of LE products at other locations.

The engine manufacturers Rep used to come by to get orders for parts from us every 2 weeks, but now he only comes by about once every six months. We just don’t need the parts or engines like we used to.

Results

Since the conversion to LE’s 8430, their drain intervals have been extended by LEAP used oil analysis from once a week, to once every 8-10 weeks. They were previously buying two 275 gallon tanks a year, now while using LE’s 8430, the Maintenance Staff only purchases one 55 gallon drum every 10 months. Owner Doug Godley keeps track of the average go-cart repair hours per week. While using the commercial grade oil average repair hours were 120 per week. Since using LE’s 8430, there is an average of 15-20 repair hours per week. Since much less time is needed maintaining the go-carts and bumper boats, more time can be spent on building and grounds upkeep. Keeping the buildings and grounds looking like new helps attract more customers and keeps them coming back. Operations Manager, Chris Elledge stated, “The engine manufacturers Rep used to come by to get orders for parts from us every 2 weeks, but now he only comes by about once every six months. We just don’t need the parts or engines like we used to.”

Since Frankie’s Fun Park in Columbia, SC has had such great success with LE products, their other locations in Charleston, SC, Greenville, SC, and Raleigh/Durham, NC have also begun using them with tremendous success.
