To address excessive transmission failures, they aimed to minimize downtime and repair costs.
Monolec® Power Fluid (7500) is a versatile lubricant recommended for combination gear-hydraulic systems, hydraulic transmissions, wet brakes, and torque converters, offering nonfoaming performance, water rejection, and excellent wear protection.
Andy Ball reported that the switch to Monolec 7500 has successfully managed transmission failures.
since the conversion to Monolec 7500, the transmission failures have been brought under control.
- Andy BallThe City of Moore services a variety of equipment used for street maintenance, trash collection and grounds maintenance. One of their most severe applications is the Allison automatic transmissions used in the refuse trucks.
The City of Moore operates ten refuse trucks that service their customers within the city limits. These trucks are equipped with Allison automatic transmissions.
In early 2001, the decision to convert the refuse trucks to Monolec Power Fluid was made. Andy Ball, maintenance supervisor, also wanted to perform oil analysis on one of the units to help justify the additional cost of Monolec 7500. The oil analysis confirmed a solid wear protection advantage over the commercial brand of automatic transmission fluid. They also compared Monolec 7500 with a major brand of synthetic fluid recommended by the manufacturer. Monolec 7500 had an edge in wear protection and about a 68 percent lower purchase price.
They were experiencing excessive transmission failures, and wanted to reduce downtime and repair expenses.
The local LE lubrication consultant recommended Monolec® Power Fluid (7500), which is for combination gear-hydraulic systems, hydraulic transmissions, wet brakes and torque converters. It is nonfoaming in service, rejects water, and provides excellent wear protection.
Andy Ball stated that since the conversion to Monolec 7500, the transmission failures have been brought under control.
