Washdowns caused issues like oxidation, corrosion, jamming, and excessive wear due to water trapping in the lubricant, necessitating the use of two different greases to address speed-related challenges.
LE Representative Walter Morman endorsed 4024 and 4025 QUINPLEX Machinery Lubricants, which are USDA authorized, H1 rated for food equipment, water resistant, high temperature resistant, rust inhibited, and feature an aluminum complex base for excellent reversibility.
LE’s 4024 and 4025 products effectively prevent corrosion, reduce wear, and eliminate unplanned downtime, ensuring smooth equipment restarts and enhancing overall machine performance.
We did have downtime; a long time ago. Downtime is a thing of the past with 4024 and 4025.
This nationally known dairy products processor, located in Northeast Texas, processes raw milk into powdered milk and butter.
This dairy products processor uses Benz Hilger (Benhill) butter packing machines.
Washdowns were resulting in a variety of problems, even with relubricating the equipment after each washdown. Water was being trapped in the H1 product being used, causing oxidation and corrosion. Because the lubricant was not performing, there would be unlubricated areas that would allow jamming and excessive wear. These machines do a 180° reverse, and shock load would knock the grease out of the areas that needed lubrication. Temperature was not a factor, but speed was, so two different greases would be required.
LE Representative Walter Morman recommended both 4024 and 4025 QUINPLEX Machinery Lubricants. They are USDA authorized and rated H1 for food and beverage equipment. processing These greases are white in color, water resistant, resist high temperatures and cling to metal. They are rust and corrosion inhibited and mechanically stable. They contain QUINPLEX®, LE’s proprietary additive that enhances lubricant performance. Best of all, LE’s QUINPLEX Food Machinery Lubricants have an aluminum complex base which gives them excellent reversibility.
LE’s 4024 and 4025 have worked well in these machines. After washdown the products either push the water out, or never allow the metal to come in contact with the water. This protects against corrosion. The grease is no longer pounded out from the applications and wear has been greatly reduced.
The restart, after days of no usage, is now very smooth. It is as if the equipment had never been shutdown. Unplanned downtime is nearly a thing of the past. The maintenance personnel stated, “We did have downtime; a long time ago. Downtime is a thing of the past with 4024 and 4025.”
