Inadequate lubrication from drying H1 grease led to plugged tubes, extreme bushing wear, frequent downtime, and machine jamming at full speed, resulting in significant product and production loss.
LE’s 4023 QUINPLEX Food Machinery Lubricant, recommended by Representative Walter Morman, reduced grease consumption from 150 lbs. to 50 lbs. annually while providing moisture and corrosion protection for frequently washed-down food processing equipment.
Switching to LE’s 4023 lubricant reduced grease consumption by 66-2/3% and eliminated costs associated with repair man-hours, parts, and lost production.
Borden Company, Inc. is located in Sulphur Springs, TX. They process specialty food such as cottage cheese, dips, and sour cream, for the dairy industry nationwide. This location has been an LE customer for seven years. Tommy Childs is the Plant Engineer.
A Pure Pac packaging machine is used to package sour cream, cottage cheese and dips.
The previous H1 grease was drying out and plugging the lubrication tubes. This required replacement or cleaning of the tubes, plus lack of adequate lubrication was causing extreme bushing w ear with frequent downtime. This machine’s parts were jamming due to lack of lubrication. This w as happening when the machine was running at full speed, causing product and production loss.
LE Representative Walter Morman recommended LE’s 4023 QUINPLEX Food Machinery Lubricant. The application called for an NLGI 0 grade grease because of the manually operated This machine is also washed down frequently, and it needed protection from moisture and corrosive cleaners. LE’s 4023 is USDA authorized and rated H1 for food and beverage processing equipment. It is white in color, water resistant, lube system.
Grease consumption was reduced from 150 lbs. per year to 50 lbs. per year resists high temperatures and is rust and corrosion inhibited. It contains QUINPLEX®, that enhances LE’s proprietary additive lubricant performance.
The dollar amount saved by using LE’s 4023 is difficult to ascertain. Grease consumption was reduced from 150 lbs. per year with the specialty grade lubricant to 50 lbs. per year with LE’s 4023. This is a savings of 66- 2/3%. The true savings came in eliminating repair man-hours, parts and lost production.
