Stride Well Service faced frequent bushing replacements costing $313.02 each every three months due to lubricant issues causing grease loss and scarring from the steel shaft.
Switching to LE’s 3752 Almagard Vari-Purpose Lubricant in October 1990 eliminated brass bushing scarring and extended its lifespan to two to three years, even under extreme conditions.
Stride Well Service achieved an annual cost savings of $1,420 by switching to LE’s 3752 Almagard Vari-Purpose Lubricant, which lasts 16 times longer than their previous specialty lubricant.
Stride Well Service is located in Woodward, OK. They are an oil field services company operating a swabbing unit.
The crown of the drilling rig has a shaft through it with a pulley on the shaft.
Stride Well Service was using a specialty lubricant to grease the crown of the drilling rig. The pulley slides back and forth on the shaft. The grease was being scrapped off, and not only falling on the truck, but the brass bushing was being scarred by the steel shaft. The bushings cost $313.02 each, and were being replaced an average of every three months.
In October of 1990, it was recommended that Charlie Loyd try LE’s 3752 Almagard Vari-Purpose Lubricant. LE’s 3752 is designed to perform in the most extreme conditions where heat, moisture, pounding action and shock loads cause other lubricants to fail. Since converting to LE’s 3752, scarring of the brass bushing has been eliminated and the bushing is lasting two to three years without replacement.
Stride Well Service was paying $1.80 per tube for the specialty lubricant, and using 80 tubes per month, as compared to five tubes of LE’s 3752 Almagard Vari-Purpose Lubricant. This equates to LE’s 3752 lasting 16 times longer in service, at a cost savings of $1,420 annually in lubricant costs alone.
