They do business of heavy hauling of cement and equipment in a severe environment that, more often than not, includes travel over remote, unpaved mine access roads. “Pinky” Grey and Charlie Evans are co-owners of GE Transport, Inc.
Application
GE Transport operates seven tractors and twenty three trailers in dry bulk, flatbed and “low boy” hauling within the State of Nevada. The roads these pieces of equipment travel on are dusty in the summer and have standing water or snow in the winter. Treated with magnesium chloride solution to help hold down dust (short term!), these mine roads also present a very corrosive and abrasive environment for mechanical equipment.

In their thirteen years of operation, GE Transport has experienced no U-joint failures and no king pins and bushings or spring pins and bushings have had to be replaced. GE Transport greases their seven Kenworth tractors and various configuration trailers at intervals of between 12,000 and 16,000 miles.
