JR & D of the City of Petal, Mississippi was bought out in February 2005 by Mike Brewer. Daniel Carley, former owner of JR&D Rentals, joined with Mr. Brewer to assist in the operation of the newly formed rental company, B&C Rentals now located in Hattiesburg, Miss. They rent out equipment to homeowners and construction companies in Hattiesburg and surrounding areas. They are a small company looking to cut cost and expand service by offering dependable equipment to their customers.
Application
Terimite T-5 D backhoes, 325 Bobcat trackhoes, 10 horsepower Ditch Witch trencher, 770 John Deer tractor, Classen sod cutters, Rayco stump grinders, post auger and dirt packers.
Challenge
When equipment was returned after being rented, there was no lubrication in bearings and joints requiring extensive maintenance and excessive use of grease. A grease was needed that would not pound out or wash out of sod cutters and heavy duty working equipment.
LE Solution
Almagard® Vari-Purpose Lubricant (3752) was recommended, which is a multi-functional extreme pressure lubricant for extended service under extreme conditions in on and off-road vehicles. It is very tacky, has excellent water resistance, and will not pound out. It is rust and corrosion inhibited. Almaplex® Industrial Lubricant (1275) was also recommended for use in B&C Rental equipment with similar features of Almagard 3752.
Results
Daniel Carley says the most impressive feature of LE grease is how it reduced their maintenance and downtime. Previously they would have to grease equipment after each rental, now it is possible to rent equipment three times before greasing it again. Even after washing the equipment with a 3000 psi washer, Almagard 3752 will not wash out. Almagard 3752 and Almaplex 1275 will not mix with water and will adhere to metal parts like a magnet to protect the working parts. B&C Rentals receiving their equipment back from their customers with grease still intact proves that LE grease is working to protect the working moving parts of their equipment. This means a savings of not having to purchase parts and it reduces downtime for repairs. This feature saves time and money to be allocated to other areas.
